lets be honest here for a second we all know that apple makes some of the best designed products on the planet unlike some of its korean competitors ..........
now lets start off with iphones design over all, it bears many similarities over its predecessor the iphone 5 but the main difference is in its new 64-Bit arm dual core processor clocked at 1.3 ghz backed up by a PowervR G6430 quad core graphics which give it a serious more compute ability over the iphone 5 but it does not stop there , it also sports a 500 DPI fingerprint scanner which also acts as a home button . Though the fingerprint scanner is great over time you will prefer not to use it as the technology is considerably new in smartphones ..........
Now for the networking , it support multiple bands of 4G LTE depending on what model you have (mine is the A1457 32 gigabytes space grey ) . Apart from the 4G connectivity it also has some basic connectivity such as wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n and a bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP.Over all i was quite satisfied by its networking but not so much while using LTE as it drains power considerably.
Moving on towards the camera , it has a 8 megapixel camera just like the previous generation of iphone but with dual tone flash and 1/3 the sensor size .The main thing i liked about the camera feature was that you can take a video and shoot pictures at the same time which is quite useful .
The camera take better pictures in the day than the light even with the flash on but that cannot be helped .Apart from the cool specs of the not so new iphone it has a slow motion mode great for taking slow motion videos and well just geek out like i did when i first got it .
Memory and storage are quite satisfying as ios does not have a heavily modified UI running over it to hog all that ram like some android devices though the storage capacity of 16Gb can be very inadequate in comparison to my 32Gb variant which cost me approximately 3000 emirati dirhams from apple . While my iphone was jailbroken i was able to monitor its ram consumption and it never utilised more than 700 mb of ram even while a heavy game like modern combat 4 was running . By now i think of the money as well spent as using an iphone is an experience like no other .
The iphone utilizes a nano sim as it is a small phone though the phone has a 4 inch retina display which is basically the amount of pixels per inch that cannot be seen by the naked eye , i had to use a magnifying glass it see the pixels !. It is protected by corning gorilla glass and oleophobic coating which are not protective enough if your phone falls face down in my case the touch has become a bit laggy but lets face it technology is far from perfection and apple devices are as good as they get .
Apple managed to squeeze in a 1560 mAh Lithium polymer battery which would give you atleast 10-12 hours before you have to charge but it is not enough for a power user such as myself as i occasionally like to play graphically demanding games on my phone though the battery case adds a significant amount of battery life and would recommend any iphone user to get one .
IOS 7 though 8.2, though the software is a bit buggy apple fixes them every few months but each update would take a considerable chunk out of your storage thus i recommend none of the iphone users to update unless necessary . Apart form the drawbacks of Ios as a operating system there are quite a few advantages such as great mail app,browser and many more apps from apple and the app store that make your life much much easier .Siri is a great companion though it has limited capabilities in the emirates but asking siri to tell me what song is playing when I don't know what it is , well lets just say its insanely cool . My personal recommendation for apps would be mentioned below .
over all the iphone 5S is a great device and i would recommend every person to get one especially if you want a device that is dependable that gives you the bang for your buck .
